Christa
Acquisition
Christa, the courageous career changer, has been a part of Kappa for nearly two decades. Especially the company’s family- and child-friendly attitude helped her to make the decision.
Christa, you are currently the front woman in acquiring new customers. What makes you so enthusiastic?
I love the variety of my tasks! From company research, initial contact and building relationships with our future customers in handing qualified leads to sales: we are the door openers for sales and manage the entire process. Every conversation, whether with customers or colleagues, is unique. Every phone call offers the opportunity to gain a completely new perspective and expand your own expertise for the next call. This is what makes my work so exciting, even after so many years.
What’s your view of the future?
Our success rises and falls by reaching the right people at the right time. Despite or perhaps because of digitalization, personal contact with our customers is becoming more and more important. The biggest challenge is to stay close to the customer. Kappa is constantly growing, so we are opening new markets, too. There we need additional expertise, because of new technologies or language skills, that’s very exciting. In acquisitions, we want to play a key role in Kappa's success.
Have you always worked in acquisitions?
I'm a trained payroll accountant and used to work in a company as an assistant to the management. For various reasons, I was looking for a new challenge and one day, I read this job advertisement at Kappa. After a job interview with the Head of Marketing and a colleague from acquisitions, my curiosity was awakened. The opportunity of a new responsibility, appreciative discussions and suitable working hours (my three children were still very young at the time) convinced me. Kappa's open attitude towards family and children was very important to me. My first day at Kappa was exactly on my 33rd birthday.
You mentioned the team. What is the working relationship like?
Open and friendly - at all levels. There is no difference in communicating - we always communicate at eye level, what is very respectful and boosts your self-confidence, which has a positive impact on communication with our customers.
In 2024, I was given responsibility for the Acquisitions team. I am proud of this trust and excited about shaping the acquisitions for the future.
Congratulations! What about Christa in private – also full of power?
I have three grandchildren who bring me great joy - my family is a very good balance for me. My passions are cooking, traveling, cycling, hiking and music. I would like to play the guitar more often in future, maybe I'll also find the time to learn to play the piano.
