Peter
Sales and Project Manager
After five years of living and working in China, he knows everything about industrialization and its consequences. After this experience, Peter switched to the clean side to make the world a little bit better.
Peter, tell us some interesting facts about your work at Kappa.
We are very well known on the market because we define solutions. I visit our customers with a blank piece of paper to work out the requirements together with them. Having all information is my start to sew tailor-made solutions. At Kappa, finding a solution is defined by the sales employee. I have a technical and commercial team at my disposal to handle the project. I attend the project right through to commissioning.
Is finding a solution always the same?
It varies. Of course, there are sometimes similar customer requirements where the technical solution is clearly definable. In the case of complex customer requirements, process engineering is often involved in advance to find a solution. Our broad range of expertise ist really fascinating. We accomplish complex tasks nearly easily. This way, the customer gets an efficient solution, precisely tailored to their needs.
Do you visit the systems after completion?
Those are my best moments. I still remember the statement of a welder who was about to retire: “I never would have imagined that I worked under such clean conditions.” It is wonderful to see the improvement in working conditions after the plant was completed, recognizing that your efforts contribute to the well-being of the environment and the community can be incredibly motivating.
You had already seen a lot before you joined Kappa…
I started my career in the production department of an industrial company; I focused on application technology. To set up a subsidiary in China was one of my biggest projects. During this time, I lived in the north of Shanghai, where I realized how valuable an intact environment is.
From Shanghai back to Steyr. What was the reason for your return?
After my return, I started a family and created a home for us. So, my job should be sustainable and ideally in the environmental engineering field.
The job at Kappa as a sales and project manager was exactly, what I was looking for. A sustainable job where I could use my technical background to get involved in environmental protection. Flat hierarchies and the direct decision marking path to the Managing Director were also factors that influenced my decision to join Kappa.
