Silvia
Order Management
Travel is an adventure in the mind. Silvia started her professional adventure at Kappa, coming from the tourism industry. She was the 9th employee at the company and therefore she has a great overview of a large part of the company's history.
Silvia, your vocation has always been professional travel.
Yes, that's right. I even attended the tourism college in Bad Leonfelden and wanted to work in a travel agency. I spent some years in Tyrol, but homesickness brought me back to Steyr. I'm still involved in traveling now, I'm responsible for scheduling the service technicians, which also includes travel planning.
How can I imagine your job?
Our service technicians carry out annual inspections and service work. I arrange the appointments with the customers and create the most efficient travel route. My objective is to ensure, that nobody drives unnecessary kilometers and that the whole process is as economical as possible - my contribution to zero emissions.
You've been here for quite a while, did you always work in this occupational area?
I have been here since 1997. I applied for a position in finance, but Kappa had another idea. I became employee number 9 and started in commercial project management. After my maternity leave, I shared my job with my colleague, who had also returned from maternity leave. The company understood our individual circumstances and I was able to work completely flexibly. In 2010, I took a new opportunity at the department of filter service, where I’m still working. From customer acquisition to order processing, route planning and scheduling service technicians to invoicing, processing orders for our digital services, these and other tasks fill my working day with joy.
What has kept you at Kappa for so long?
I have a lot of freedom in my work and can structure myself completely independently. Working in the team is very uncomplicated and there is a relaxed atmosphere. There is always a possibility to develop and learn new things. And of course, I have very nice colleagues - that's very important to me.
And the dream of working in a travel agency?
I now prefer to be on the other side. But traveling is still one of my passions.
